Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Lazy French when you use the Telegram bot, the web app, the mobile apps or this website. By using Lazy French, you agree to them.

The short version on paying

The Unlimited Pass renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. We don't refund partial periods.

What Lazy French does

You send French you've come across, as text or a photo. Lazy French explains it in your language, saves the key points as flashcards, and builds readings and review exercises from them.

Explanations, readings, exercises and grading are written by AI. They are usually right but can contain mistakes. Lazy French is a study aid, not a substitute for a teacher, a certified translation or professional advice. Don't rely on it where a mistake would matter, such as legal, medical or official documents.

Your account

Free use

Lazy French includes a free trial. Today it gives 15 explanations, 2 readings and 1 review round. After the 15 explanations are used, you keep 1 free explanation every 24 hours. As a guest in the app, you get 5 explanations before signing in. The app and the bot show what you have left. We may change free limits; the change applies from then on and never removes cards you've already saved.

The Unlimited Pass

The Unlimited Pass removes the free limits. You can buy it in two places:

The price you'll pay is shown before you confirm, including any tax that applies. A pass bought on the web works in the web app and the mobile apps once you sign in to the same account. A pass bought with Telegram Stars works in Telegram.

Automatic renewal

Your pass renews automatically at the end of each period and you're charged the same way you paid, until you cancel. If we change the price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.

Cancelling

When you cancel, you won't be charged again and you keep unlimited access until the end of the period you already paid for. After that, your account goes back to free use. Your cards and history stay.

Refunds

Payments are not refundable, including for the unused part of a period. If you think you were charged by mistake, write to support@lazyfrench.one and we'll look into it. This doesn't limit any right to a refund you have under the law where you live.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, you keep access for 3 more days while the payment is retried. If it still fails, the pass ends. If a payment is reversed or charged back, the access it paid for ends at once.

Your content

What you send stays yours. You give Lazy French permission to store and process it, including through the AI providers listed in the Privacy Policy, only to provide the service to you. Only send content you have the right to share, and avoid sending other people's private information.

Fair use

Don't use Lazy French to:

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Unless the breach is serious, we'll warn you first.

Changes and availability

We keep improving Lazy French, so features can change. We try to keep it running but can't promise it will never be down. If we stop the service entirely, we'll tell you at least 30 days in advance, refund the unused part of any paid period, and let you export your cards.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Lazy French is provided as is. We aren't liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by mistakes in AI-generated content. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived, including Quebec's Consumer Protection Act if it applies to you.

Ending your use

You can stop using Lazy French at any time and ask us to delete your account, as described in the Privacy Policy. Cancel any subscription first so you aren't charged again.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Quebec, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them closer to home.

Language

These terms are available in French and English. If the two versions differ, the French version prevails.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the bot or the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
